Colloid Mill can be used to grind the liquid, solid and paste materials. They are mainly composed by machine shell, stator, rotor, adjusting mechanism, cooling mechanism and motor, etc. And can also be applied in many fields such as food, pharmaceutical and chemical. The materials will be ground again and again by the stator and rotor to achieve the desired fineness and homogeneity. Colloid Mill plays an important role in modern industry, greatly promote the quality and product efficiency at some extent.

Colloid mills offer numerous advantages, making them an essential piece of equipment in various industries. Their ability to generate high shear force, achieve precise particle size reduction, and produce stable emulsions ensures superior performance. Their versatility allows them to be used in a wide range of applications, while their robust construction and safety features ensure reliability and safety. The combination of these factors makes colloid mills a valuable asset, enhancing efficiency and quality in industrial processes.

  1. A stainless steel rotor and stator are ground at high speed. One rotates and the other is stationary, so that the material passing between the teeth is subjected to shear force and friction.
  2. A pair of conical rotary teeth in the colloid mill and fixed teeth move relative to each other. The material passes through the gap between the fixed and rotary teeth, crushed, emulsified, homogenised and dispersed. Fine ultra-micro-particle crushing is more efficient when using shear, grinding and high-speed stirring. Grinding relies on the grinding disc teeth bevelled into.
  3. The colloid mill is ideal for wet crushing. It grinds, emulsifies, crushes, mixes, disperses and homogenises the material.

A colloid mill is a machine that is used to reduce the particle size of a solid suspended in liquid, or to reduce the droplet size of a liquid suspended in another liquid. This is done by applying high levels of hydraulic shear to the process liquid. It is commonly used for emulsifying, homogenizing, dispersing, mixing, and comminuting various kinds of materials.

  1. Feeding: Raw materials enter the colloid mill through the feeding port, generally liquid or semi-liquid materials.
Preliminary shear: After entering the colloid mill, the materials are preliminarily sheared and roughly ground, which is mainly done by the gap between the high-speed rotating stator and rotor.
  2. High-frequency vibration and shear: The gap between the stator and rotor is very small, usually between tens of microns and hundreds of microns. The rotor rotates at high speed, generating strong shear force, friction and high-frequency vibration, so that the materials are efficiently crushed and homogenised in a short time.
  3. Refinement and homogenisation: The material passes repeatedly between the stator and the rotor, and is gradually refined to achieve the required particle size and homogeneity. The mechanical force that the material is subjected to when passing through includes shearing, impact, extrusion, etc.
Discharge: The treated material is discharged through the discharge opening to form a homogenised, finely ground end product.
  4. Circulation (if required): In some applications, the material may need to pass through the colloid mill several times to achieve the desired fineness and uniformity. In this case, the material can be re-entered into the colloid mill through a recirculation system for further processing.
